The Skruffians are a Minneapolis reggae-ska-jazz collective dedicated to promulgating Jamaican music with strong improvisatory elements. The group features Todd Baer on trumpet, primary composer Joe Mayo on tenor sax, Jared Jarvis of baritone sax, Thomas Nordlund with guitar, Brian Knox through keyboard and melodica, Tom Hutton by bass, and Rick Nair above drums.

The Skruffians are a Minneapolis-based instrumental ensemble that specializes in jazzy treatments of reggae and ska, reggaey treatments of ska and jazz, and skaey treatments of jazz and reggae. The group has performed at the Cedar Cultural Center, the Triple Rock, the Black Dog, the 2017 Twin Cities Jazz Festival, the Parkway Theater, Jazz Central Studios and numerous other venues.
